"Happy Birthday July"

Our 4th of July weekend did NOT go as planned, but was good anyway! We were planning to go to Childress to spend the holiday weekend with Nick's family, but due to cash flow isssues and a kidney infection, we decided to stay home at the last minute. We really missed seeing everyone in Childress, and are disappointed we were unable to get anything done on the house, but we found a few things to do around here that turned out to be quite fun. We attended a parade here in our little "small town" of Oak Ridge and enjoyed the festival at the park followed by some spectacular fireworks put on in The Woodlands...we had a perfect view from this side of the highway!

Dalton loved the parade, mostly because of all the candy he caught...well, to be honest, Daddy elbowed his way through all the little kids to score some candy for Dubbs. But the point is, he had candy! Dalton made his way through the crowd in the park waving and telling everyone "Happy Birthday July!" He has a way of putting smiles on people's faces and I just love to watch him when he's working a crowd. We had been talking up the fireworks all day, but they didn't start until 9:15pm, which is well past Dalton's normal bedtime, so by the time they started up, he was half asleep! They were awesome though, and we enjoyed all the festivities of the day. The rest of the weekend was spent doing chores around the house, getting plenty of rest and staying out of the heat as much as possible!

I am two weeks away from my 3rd Trimester and I'm starting to feel pretty pregnant now! The heat really gets to me and sleep is not so easy to come by anymore...guess this is the preparation stage for having a newborn in the house again. Ahhh, sleep deprivation...how I've missed you!
