Hot days, rain and good times

Last week, Nick spent a few days in Austin for work...Dalton and I missed him terribly!! So we picked him up from the airport on Friday night and came home to make up for the time we missed out on during the week. I made tacos, we had a great dinner and all went to bed early. Saturday morning, we made our faithful Saturday morning trip to Walmart, did little projects around the house, then headed over to the Kridler's house for a cook-out. It was a lot of fun to hang out with Carly, Brandan, Tamara and Scott. Milla and Dalton enjoyed each other a lot, too! Dalton ran around in the backyard, occasionally stopping at the cooler to grab a piece of ice to cool him off. We ate fajitas, had a couple of margaritas and had a really nice visit.

After all of Dalton's running around in the yard, his little head was so sweaty and hot that Daddy decided it was time to "buzz" it again! So my little man is now a baldy, but I have to say he wears it well!

Sunday afternoon, Dalton got in his baby pool in the yard and was really having fun spraying Mom and Dad with the garden hose...until, like it tends to do here, out of nowhere came a huge thunderstorm. Dubbs was NOT happy that we made him get out of the pool, after all two of his favorite things are swimming and rain. So Daddy had a great idea - we blew up our huge air mattress and had a family wrestling match in the living room. That seemed to make Dalton forget about the pool, if only for a little while.

Nick is off to Austin again this week for a couple of days. It is definitely not the ideal situation, but we manage. It sure would be easier to deal with if Dalton and I had family close by while Nick is gone, but I don't think anyone has plans of moving down here, sooooo...
