Lessons of 2007

At the end of every year I like to make a list of things I have learned during the course of that particular year. Some are things I may have learned a long time ago, but they are important life lessons that I was reminded of again. I tend to be much more faithful about doing this than making resolutions. It's not that I don't have goals or ambition, it's just that I tend not to have all that much self-dicipline and usually blow my resolutions...and that makes me feel bad about myself. However, when I can look back on the year past and see how I grew as a person and the obstacles of life I overcame, I feel good about myself and optimistic about the year ahead. So that's why I do it. Don't get me wrong...it's not all that serious...I learn a lot of funny stuff too! I know my list is finished when it makes me cry a little and laugh a lot...thanks for reading it.
  1. Only hire movers who are backed by the BBB
  2. At-home highlighting kits are never a good idea. Period.
  3. You will not, in fact, die if you go to back to back Buffett shows. It takes a while to recover, but it won't kill you....it just makes you stronger, and that much more of a Parrothead.
  4. You can't make people like you, or want you around. It is important to remember that God created you just the way he wanted you: special, unique and precious to Him. If other people can't see that, screw 'em!
  5. Every Mom is a "Working Mom"
  6. I'm allergic to shrimp (and not happy about it)
  7. Never go to float the River when the river is closed
  8. It's true that your family will always be your family, but it takes work to have good relationships with your family...and it is always worth the effort!
  9. Blogging is fun!
  10. I have the coolest little boy in the world.
  11. I have the most wonderful husband in the world
  12. It is expensive when dogs get sick
  13. No matter how old you are, sometimes you still have to call on Mommy and/or Daddy to help you
  14. Traditions are great. And it is not only okay, but also healthy to start new ones when it's time to move on. (Thank you to the Boxes class for this one!)
  15. Making new friends is wonderful
  16. High School reunions are over-rated.
  17. Old, dear friends are irreplacable and remarkable...it is important to keep them close.
  18. A lot can change in a year
  19. Little babies grow into big kids faster than you'd think
  20. I am very very blessed!!

Happy New Year to you and yours. May your 2008 be filled with good health, much happiness and abundant love!
