Nick and I decided last week that we were going to have a garage sale this weekend. So I spent most of the week cleaning out boxes in the garage, going through baby stuff and pricing all of our things. It's funny that we've moved so many times in the last few years and yet we still manage to accumulate (and for some reason keep) so much stuff we don't use or need. Not sure how that happens. Anyway, Saturday morning Nick and Dalton headed to the donut store at 5:45am and I started getting set up so we would be ready for the early birds. We made $150 in the first hour and then...nothing. No lookers, no buyers, nothing. So we decided we were happy with our $150 and we closed up before noon. Dalton was a great help. He worked really hard sweeping the grass and negotiating with potential buyers. I'm sure we raked in a few extra dollars because of his mad bargaining skills.
Early morning donut run
Working hard!
We all actually had fun with it. Fun that didn't cost us anything, but actually resulted in some extra money in our pockets! I wish we had more useless crap laying around so we could do it again this weekend.
After church on Sunday we all took a good long nap, then worked out, and hit the back yard for some pool and sand box time. Nick cooked hot dogs and cheddar wurst for us and Dalton just had fun getting as banged up and dirty as possible. He has skinned knees, elbows and shins, and I'm pretty sure that no matter how well we bathed him, he still has sand in his ears and hair. But he is such a boy, not only does he not mind it, he seems to love it! Below is a picture of him actually rubbing sand (which was really more like mud because it was wet) all over himself.
Good thing the eyebrows are doing their job!
Man I'm dirty...
No problem, I'll just take a little dip!
