Poker, Pat and Parties!

Friday night we loaded up the family Jeepster and prepared to head to McKinney. Nick's mom was there at Jammi's house and we had originally planned to be there in time to have a nice family dinner. BUT - I had Anniston here until late so we didn't leave town until 6:30pm. We got almost to Huntsville when I realized I'd forgotten birthday presents for a party we were to attend on Sunday...more on that later. Anyway, we were all tired, and would find out later that 2/3 of us were fighting off a cold we didn't know about. So we turned around, slept for 9 hours (!!) and then headed back out on Saturday morning. We got to Mckinney and had fun watching the kiddos play, had a nice but short visit with Mama Shoffner, then Nick and I set out for Cow Town to see Pat Green. We were meeting up with Kyle & Jammi who were at the back-stage meet & greet getting autographs and pre-partying with the band...you can read all about it on Jammi's blog (link to the right).

We got to our hotel room, played some cards (I played horribly!), ate some yummy Mexican food at Mercado Juarez next door and enjoyed the good company. KP's friends Darrin and Shara were there and good ol' Jeremy Prine even met up with us! It was good times for sure! Before we knew it, it was time to head over to Billy Bob's for the concert. Nick and I jumped on the complementary hotel shuttle and a nice old man named Ed took us to our destination.

The concert was amazing...although we didn't all sit together, Nick and I really enjoyed ourselves. We made friends with the couple sitting next to us who just happend to be in town from Sugarland! Nick thought the guy looked like Jimmy Buffett, so we chatted with them and even let them buy us a round!! Thank you to Kyle and Jammi for letting us use their extra tickets...we had a great time with you guys (as always!!)

The concert ended just before 1:00Am, so we called Ed to come pick us up. He was a great driver...even took us through the Whataburger drive-thru on the way back to the hotel. There were some Northerners in the shuttle with us who didn't understand what "Waterburger" was, I'd tell you what my response was, but I don't think it's blog appropriate. Sunday we picked up Dubbs and went to Nolan and Reagan's birthday party...that's another post that I'll get to as soon as I can aquire some pictures!
